at the IV
Ibero-American Congress
of Naval Engineering
The Safety and Audit Group -GSyA- of the University of Castilla-La Mancha participated in the IV Ibero-American Congress of Naval Engineering, which took place in Seville from October 2 to 5. The event, organized by the Pan-American Institute of Naval Engineering in the Americas (IPIN) and the Ghenova-University of La Coruña Chair, was attended by more than 470 specialists and representatives from universities, research centers, navies of different Ibero-American countries, shipowners, shipyards, ports, industry, classification societies and authorities of the sector.
During this congress, whose honorary committee was chaired by the King of Spain, Felipe VI, a presentation entitled "Cybersecurity in the maritime sector: a point of analysis in risk management" was given by Lieutenant Commander Ferney Martínez Ossa, engineer of COTECMAR "member of the GSyA". In this academic space, the consolidation of the most relevant and applicable aspects in the field of cybersecurity for the maritime sector was socialized, as well as the proposal of the cybersecurity framework "POSEIDON" applied in one of its components to a case study on a ship in operation.
