Secure BizDevOps: Early Integration of Controls at RECSI 2026

Secure BizDevOps: Early Integration of Controls at RECSI 2026

Within the framework of the 19th Spanish Meeting on Cryptology and Information Security (RECSI 2026), held at the University of La Laguna (Tenerife) from 17 to 21 March, researcher Alejandra Selva-Mora, from the University of Costa Rica and in collaboration with the Security and Auditing Group (GSyA) at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, presented the paper “Secure Software Development in BizDevOps: Early Integration of Goals and Controls”.

The study addresses the challenges of integrating cybersecurity into BizDevOps environments, where development agility often hinders the early incorporation of security measures. Based on a state-of-the-art analysis, gaps are identified in the alignment between business objectives and security requirements. As its main contribution, the work proposes the introduction of a new phase, termed “Secure”, within the BizDevOps lifecycle, aimed at defining security goals from the earliest stages, managing security debt, and strengthening secure software design.

The proposal was positively received for its proactive approach and its capacity to enhance organisational resilience in agile development environments.
