At the XXXII Jornadas sobre la Enseñanza Universitaria de la Informática (JENUI 2026), our colleagues Eugenio Romero Ciudad and Joaquín Sierra Granados presented a work titled 'Formación práctica en ciberseguridad a través de un laboratorio docente con entornos simulados'. This presentation coincided with the 50th anniversary of the creation of Informatics studies in Spain and the establishment of the first Faculties and Schools. The article proposes a practical learning approach to cybersecurity through the understanding and analysis of vulnerabilities applied to a simulated smart home environment. This methodology enables students to interact with realistic architectures, facilitating the detailed study of current threats and the design of effective countermeasures within a completely secure and controlled laboratory setting.
