Título: La propuesta de Ciberseguridad Marítima “POSEIDÓN” del GSyA presente en las JNIC 2023

The Afundación headquarters in Vigo was the scene of the VIII version of the National Cybersecurity Research Conferences that took place from June 21 to 23, 2023. This important scientific congress was the setting for the dissemination of the proposal “Maritime Cybersecurity: Background and strategies of a global response to a worldwide need” by the Security and Audit Group -GSyA- of the Higher School of Informatics of the University of Castilla-La Mancha.

Among the more than 200 attendees, Lieutenant Commander of the Colombian National Navy and GSyA member Ferney Martínez Ossa presented in the Original Research branch the work “Maritime Cybersecurity: background and strategies facing a global need”, an initiative that under the leadership of the University of Castilla-La Mancha and the support of the Science and Technology Corporation for the Development of the Naval, Maritime and River Industry COTECMAR seeks the design, implementation, and evaluation of a Naval Cybersecurity Framework which has been named “POSEIDÓN” with the aim of being a cybersecurity alternative that provides greater efficiency in technological risk management in the maritime field.

JNIC is a scientific congress, which focuses on the Research, Transfer, and Training pillars in Cybersecurity, promotes the contact and exchange of ideas, knowledge, and experience between the academic and research network, serving as a window to disseminate the latest scientific advances in the subject presenting innovative perspectives and approaches in cybersecurity, enabling the connection between research and innovation and the development of value-added products and services for society. Researchers and professionals from different parts of Spain will present the results of their scientific research, which have previously passed a rigorous selection process, from various perspectives with a common link: cybersecurity.

Throughout the day, “POSEIDÓN” had a prominent acceptance among the attendees for its thematic originality and investigative scope, allowed the progress of the study for naval cybersecurity risk management to be shared among the scientific community. Similarly, during the day, the capabilities of GSyA in the different research lines were made known: Security in Cyber-Physical Systems and IoT, Risk Analysis and Management, Security Management and Evaluation, Security Metrics, Security Ontologies, among others.
